How I saved Space Camp

Space Camp and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center employ 1,200 people and serves as the top tourism attraction in the state with an annual economic impact of $500,000,000 to the city of Huntsville, Alabama. In 2020, this internationally renowned organization was in danger of closing their doors forever due to COVID-19 and the resulting loss of funding. They came to The Alderman Group needing to raise $1.5 million in just 4 months, or be forced to close their doors forever.


As graphic designer, photographer, and videographer for The Alderman Group, I was in charge of creating social media posts and graphics for the fundraising page. Additionally, I assisted the team by providing photos and video of Space Camp for the campaign's promotional material. All of this was done in just 10 days.

My graphics were featured in stories on CNN, The New York Times, Gizmodo, NPR, and ABC News.


The campaign closed raising
$3.2 million.

Following the successful Save Space Camp campaign, The Alderman Group continues to work with the Rocket Center and Space Camp, developing and producing the donor-sustained Space Camp Explorers Club and the Dare to Explore podcast, and creating a new Rocket Center Foundation website.

Again, as designer, I was in charge of branding the newly created Explorers Club and podcast. This included a full pitch deck with logos for each of the tiers, social posts, letterhead, patches, and more.
